Escape Fitness releases MARS 2.0 digital coaching station with smart screen

Escape Fitness has overhauled its Multi Activity Resource Station (MARS) and launched MARS 2.0 to provide gym goers with a more personalised training experience. The original MARS 1.0 station was designed to counter the intimidation users can feel towards new equipment by demonstrating how it works. The 2.0 iteration makes these programmes even easier to access.

The main differences between the 1.0 model and the new 2.0 iteration is the ability to customise content so users benefit from a more bespoke training session. It also features a swipe screen, like a smartphone – the departure from clicking and pushing to activate options in favour of swiping creates a more familiar, smoother workout experience.

“MARS 2.0 is a complete reinvention of our first-generation MARS digital coaching station,” said Matthew Januszek, CEO of Escape Fitness. “All content is uploaded in-house by the Escape team which gives total and immediate control over content provision. When Escape launches a new equipment innovation, content is uploaded to the library ready to be ‘switched on’ at the operator’s discretion.”

While MARS 1.0 could only be accessed with a cable connection to the ethernet, the 2.0 connects via WiFi and Bluetooth making the station a more accessible solution to gym operators.

“Being able to access equipment demonstrations and pre-loaded programmes that focus on how to use the equipment gives the operator peace of mind that people can train safely and the user the confidence to participate,” said Januszek.
